Dr Raymond Sheh was invited to give the opening presentation at the International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence (IJCAI) Workshop on Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) in Melbourne, Australia in late August, 2017.
He presented a preliminary categorisation for explanations with the specific aim of matching the explanatory requirements of different users and applications with the capability of different machine learning techniques, such as Neural Networks, Decision Trees and Support Vector Machines.
This presentation, and the discussions that followed, shaped much of our work in XAI. For further details, please visit our XAI page!
