The Intelligent Robots Group is working with various US Government departments to improve drone safety!
Dr Raymond Sheh traveled to Crozet, Virginia, USA to support the deployment of prototypical DHS-NIST-ASTM International Standard Test Methods for Response Robots, particularly as they relate to operator proficiency and sensing for drones used in public safety applications.
The deployment was in collaboration with the 2019 National Public Safety UAS Conference hosted by the University of Virginia. The event is sumarised in the CBS 19 news network’s coverage.
Raymond also demonstrated the integration of Virtual Reality cameras onto small drones to provide a unique perspective!
(You’ll probably also notice the next few news items coming in out of order as I process a backlog of events. Stay tuned – we’ve been busy!)
